A fun little concert survey

Here is a survey I decided to do because I was bored one day. And I thought it was pretty interesting and informative about me since I haven't really said too much about myself. It shows a little bit of my music taste and how many concerts I actually go to (it really isn't that much, sadly).

What was the last concert you attended?
Now and Zen concert at Golden Gate Park featuring OneRepublic, The Goo Goo Dolls, Plain White T's, Walk Off The Earth, and Larkin Poe

What bands have you seen in concert the most, and how many times?
Jonas Brothers 4 times. If you also count solo acts technically 7. I was obsessed. What can I say?

Do you have any setlists? From which bands?
Just got OneRepublic's from Now and Zen. Best moment of my life!

Are there any CDs in close proximity to you? Which ones?
No, I'm not in my room but if I was I think I have The Lumineers. That might be the only one in my room here.

What band are you in the mood to see live right this second?
Uh I'm always in the mood to see any band but specifically I'd see OneRepublic like every day.

Have you ever been on a tour bus?
Uh no…

Have you ever partied with a band?
In my dreams. I feel like I've seen less known bands I could've partied with when I was under the age of 21.

How many towns have you been to concerts in?
San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Mountain View, Concord

How many venues have you seen bands play live in?
Let's see if I can remember them all.
HP Pavilion, Oracle Arena, The Filmore, Grand Sierra Resort, Bill Grahm Auditorium, Sleeptrain, The Regency Ballroom, Shoreline Amphitheater, America's Cup Pavilion, The Warfield, Event Center, and others escaping my memory right now.

What bands did you see live in the month of May?
I think it was only Imagine Dragons.

Which CD are you addicted to at the moment?
Native by OneRepublic. Definitely should check it out if you haven't.

Who is one band that you used to like, but now you can’t stand?
No one.

Have you ever been on anyones guest list? Who’s?
No. I'm not that special.

Last band person that you got a picture with?
Crushing my heart. It's been a while. I can't even remember. Kendall Schmidt? Maybe was the last one.

Do you consider yourself a groupie?
Haha no. Maybe when I was younger and crazed.

How old were you when you went to your first concert?
10? That was the biggest guess of my life.

Who was it?
NSYNC!

Which artists haven’t you seen yet that you want to see?
Hmmm. I'd love to see Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West,  Walk the Moon

Are you wearing a band shirt right now?
No. I surprisingly don't own many.

What band do you own the most merch of?
Jonas Brothers. It's when I went through a phase.

Do you ever do anything crazy at shows?
Haha definitely not. I'm pretty tamed with my dancing and singing.

What are your favourite venues to go to shows at?
I like all of them. Big arenas when I'm floor is a great experience but I also love the small intimate ones where you really feel, see, and hear the band.

What band do you have the most performance pictures of?
Like which artist have I taken the most pictures of? Recently I was looking at my albums and realized I had over 400 pictures from my Justin Bieber concert…
Would you ever get a tattoo representing a band?
I have always though of getting a OneRepubluc one.

How many concerts do you average a year?
Honestly, no clue. Let's see what I've been to this year that I can remember. Maroon 5, Imagine Dragons, The Lumineers, Jonas Brothers, Wild Jam, Summer Splash, OneRepublic, Now and Zen, Bruno Mars. Probably more I can't really think of.

Upcoming shows?
Michael Buble in November. Trying to get Macklemore and Ryan Lewis tickets in December and then Justin Timberlake in January!

Alice 97.3 Now and Zen

On Sunday I had the absolute great pleasure of going to Alice 97.3 Now and Zen concert in Golden Gate Park. I was super excited because this year had a pretty great line up, including my favorite band OneRepublic. So if you don't know Now and Zen is a free concert that the radio station Alice 97.3 puts on every year. They also have Alice's Summerthing which is also free. Previously they have had acts like Ed Sheeran, Adam Lambert, Sarah Bareilles, and more. This Now and  Zen had Larkin Poe, Walk off the Earth, Plain White T's, The Goo Goo Dolls, and OneRepublic. What a fantastic line up, right? I've actually heard of all of them and was really excited for it!

So the day started off early in the morning so I could be front row. I obviously need to be front row for my favorite band. My friends and I got to Golden Gate Park around 6:30. Yup, 6:30 in the morning. It was still dark. I don't do too well when I start my day in the dark. But like I said, totally worth it to be front row for my band. So we get in line and see other people that had the same crazy idea of getting there early. Some girls actually got there at 5 (I think that is extremely insane but that's just me). So we just wait and wait and wait until the gates open at 11. We get food, read, almost fall asleep, to pass the time away. Once we get in we have to wait another hour (well I guess that isn't too long since we were just waiting 4 hours) but it's okay because we are FRONT ROW! Yes, getting there that early paid off and was 100% worth it.

I'll talk a little about each set but I do want to highlight two of the groups in two different posts. They deserve their own posts because they were that awesome. But I'll let you know a little bit about each act.

Larking Poe was first. I had no clue who they were or that they were going to play but they were okay. Nothing too special for me but they were good!

Walk Off the Earth - Now these guys were amazing. The only song I knew was Red Hands which I was super excited for because that song has been stuck in my head for the past week. They had so much energy and looked like they were having so much fun up there that I was having fun without knowing any songs. They definitely gained a new fan!

The Plain White T's - Of course everyone automatically thinks of Hey There Delilah but they surprisingly have more songs! And I actually knew the majority of them. I was very happy with that. I forgot they sang songs like 1,2,3,4 and Rhythm of Love.

The Goo Goo Dolls - I forgot how old they were...haha. But they were awesome! They started off with Slide (a song I actually knew). Played other songs most people would know and new ones I've never heard of. They were still pretty cool even though I forgot they were old...

OneRepublic - Obviously the band I went for and obviously the most amazing performance ever (bias opinion). They were awesome. They sang all of their hits which I completely forgot they had so many. But of course I will do a whole separate post on their beauty.

Overall the concert was outstanding! I would definitely recommend you going to one of Alice's free concerts. I mean come on. It's FREE! No reason not to go. Although I'd suggest going a little early or early on in the first set. I know people who got denied in because it was so packed and surprisingly did reach capacity. And even if you don't know any artists go with friends. Free music, awesome food and drinks, and a whole lot of fun.
